Woven Banarsi Saree- Ultimate Glistening Drape

The Woven Banarasi Silk saree is undoubtedly the most ornate and gorgeous garment produced in India. It is adored and worn across the country for special occasions. This is also one of the most favorite bridal choice. A woven Banarasi silk saree with contrast border is the one with highest demand, it gives it a more elegant and classier look.

As the name suggest, the Banarasi woven saree collection is produced exclusively in the ancient city of Varanasi (was previously called Banaras). The special characteristics of a woven Banarasi silk saree is dual influence of Mughal and Hindu cultures in the textile and design.

Rich Weaves and Luxurious textures

During Mughal period, these fine silk weaves were combined with gold thread, which was widely known as ‘zari’. The zari made the design more intricate and beautiful. If you shop woven sarees online, or anywhere else, you will know that it drips of royalty.

Why is it so popular?

Woven Banarasi silk saree is known for its tight weave, a beautiful metallic shine, fine gold work, touch of royalty and detailed intertwining designs like- flowers, figures, net, leaves etc. Only the finest materials are used to create a beautiful 9-yard wonder known as Banarasi saree.

Did you know: The gold and silver woven thread used in the netting and designing of the sarees are from south of India.

One intricate woven Banarasi silk saree can take up to one year to produce. Mostly bridal or heavy sarees are ordered a year or two in advance. In most households, parents get the saree made years before the marriage. Banarasi saree is a heritage that every bride would love to carry.

It is time that you get one for yourself and your loved one, shop woven saree and witness them being happily shocked!

How to style your lehenga after the wedding!

We spend so much time, effort and money to buy bridal lehenga or even a bridesmaid dress. It is not fair that we can only wear it once in our lifetime. Do not worry, here we tell you a few styling tips that will allow you to get more wear out of your beloved and expensive lehenga or lacha.

Contrast it with different colour

Red overall lehenga lacha collection does look bridal and you wouldn’t want to steal the limelight of the main bride by wearing it as it is on someone else’s wedding. So, pair your red lehenga with maybe an off-white or beige blouse without a dupatta to make it less bridal. You can also opt for contrasting colours like green or pink and maybe orange. Just make sure that your blouse is not heavily embellished.

Pair it up with a Kurta

If your lehenga or lacha has a cancan, you can get it removed or reduce it and wear it with a neutral-coloured Kurta. This look will definitely make everyone fall in love with your style.

Change the design of the choli

Usually, bridal lehenga’s choli has embroidered sleeves. You can simply go to your nearest tailor, get the sleeves out and maybe do some changes to it. Once you’re satisfied with the choli, wear it with the same coloured or contrasting dupatta.

Opt for an indo-western look

We all have loved the look Anushka Sharma had in one of her movies. She paired her heavily embellished lehenga with a white shirt and chunky jewellery. You can follow the suite too. This is not only stylish but a comfortable look for extra events other than the main wedding.

The choli as a Blouse

You can always reuse your lehenga’s choli as a blouse to any of your saree. This look will fetch you many compliments.

Pair the choli with different lehenga

Just like we did for the lehenga, similarly, you can use your bridal choli by pairing it with a simple lacha or a long skirt.

Hope these tips will help you reuse your wedding lehenga, at least 5 more times.

Kanjivaram Saree- A nine-yard wonder

Kanjivaram Saree has bought its name from the village of its origin- Kanchipuram. It is a silk saree and South-Indian answer to the very famous Banarasi Saree. Kanjivaram sarees usually use thick fabric and contrasting colours with gold detailing. Due to its deep colours and presence of gold all-over the saree, it is preferred for festive occasions.

Here we will learn about the weaving process of this wonderful silk sarees:

Kancheepuram Silk Sarees online or offline are woven from pure mulberry silk. The silk is all produced in the South region of India, but the golf detailing that you see on it, comes from Gujarat. Making of Kanjivaram Silk Sarees Collection is a long process which includes dipping the saree in the rice water. Then it is sun-dried to increase the thickness and stiffness. Each of the silk thread is interlocked with a really-thin silver wire. Post the interlocking technique, golden thread is used to complete the embroidery.

Did you know: The pallu, the border and the body of the saree generally wove separately and then interlocked with precision together.

Usually, if you look for Kancheepuram silk sarees online, you will find that the design and colour of the body and the pallu are quite different. It is because the weavers, very intricately weave both of them separately and eventually interlock them with undeniable skills. You can figure out the skill if you will ever look closely at the intersection of the body and pallu, there you will find a zig-zag pattern, known as pitni, that is where the body and the rest of the parts meet.

The joining of the body, pallu and border is known as Korvai and is done with so much precision that it takes years to master this technique.

Now, when you will wear anything from the kanjivaram silk sarees collection, you will also realize the labour that went into making that beautiful piece just for you.

Essential to Statement: Face-Masks have come a long way

Fashion has literally taken over everything. It has a unique ability to take our core wardrobe essentials and turning them into a statement.

In order to minimize the risk of spread of any virus, face masks have been made mandatory in Public spaces. We understand that it still feels like unusual addition to our daily routine because it conceals the part of body that was usually exposed and now suddenly the restriction has been imposed. But, it doesn’t mean that your personality and style statement needs to be hidden too.

It is no surprise that the face masks have been gracefully embraced by the fashion world. You will see many cotton face masks online in various prints and designs. You can choose whichever you like depending on the occasion and your mood.

The regular disposable masks are not eco-friendly since it can be used just once. It is advisable to buy washable cotton face mask online, this way, you can choose your favourite colour, design and print and reuse it by sanitising and washing it after every use.

The non-surgical face Masks online availability is pretty high, now every brand has their own line of it. You can opt for the right aesthetic suiting your personality.

Someone has rightly said, when life gives you lemon, make a lemonade. Similarly, if face masks have now become a collective responsibility- it can easily be turned into an entirely new form of self-expression. And why not, we are a responsible citizen and face masks not only protect us from the viruses but minimize the spread, making lives of others less risky.

Even though we hope for the time when we no longer need a face mask, but until then, we will not make our responsibility look boring.

Get Gown for your wedding functions

Indian wedding is a festival in itself that continues for at least more than more than two days. Finding different looks for each day can be a tough task to achieve. You do not want to wear lehenga at each of your function, there has to be a variety.

It is now time to ditch that lehenga look for other functions apart from the main wedding.

Here we have listed out function-wise styles of Party wear gown dress that will help you stand out:

Mehendi Ceremony

This is the time when you have to sit long hours in one position while someone is putting on henna on you. It is crucial to be very comfortable in this function. You do not want dupatta or saree’s pallu to fall and create any havoc. For this particular function, get a light-weight gown, with minimal embroidery. Preferably in the colour green. You can opt for a gown with an uneven hemline, which is shorter in the front and longer at the back. This way it will be easier for you to move around once he henna has been applied on your feet.

Engagement Ceremony

Engagement, unlike the wedding is usually more casual and you would want to dance, move around a lot. You can buy designer gowns that are heavily embroidered but are in a neutral tone like- salmon pink, grey, silver or even over all gold looks really nice. Pair it up with a drop earring and stylish hair updo and you will look drop-dead gorgeous.

Cocktail

This is the night full of drinks, dance and laughter. This is the most enjoyable night and why waste it by wearing something that is not comfortable. The best attire for this day can be picked from gown dress collection with black or dark blue sequined gown, wither a full sleeve one or single noodle strapped gown. This is the day for experimentation. For more royal look, you can pair a sleeveless gown with lace gloves and it will add that extra factor to your dress.

Be comfortable in whatever you chose to wear, it is your day after all.

Must have every season- Kurti

There is a wide misconception that Kurti is an outfit choice for summers. And why not! The flowy textures and breezy style do make it very comfortable in the scorching heat but if styled accordingly, it can be worn in any season.

Here we have listed a few looks that you can create with a Kurti:

Breezy Summer Look

We all want to be comfortable during this time of the year. Anything tight, embroidered won’t be a great choice. A loose cotton Chanderi Kurti with either palazzo or straight pants will be the best choice. This style has a lot of room to breathe plus it will not stick to your body. This style is best paired with a pair of jhumkas, and you’re good to go. Avoid neckpiece in summers, as it can get itchy by reacting to sweat.

Summer Party Look

You can opt for pastel colours with embroidery. There is no dearth of cotton Kurti online, you will find it in every colour, design and sizes. For an evening party look, choose a slightly fitted cotton Kurti and pair it up with churidar (not leggings). Put all this together by carrying a dupatta, great makeup and a pair of earrings. This look is classic and suits all body types.

The College Rockstar look

College and fashion are almost synonymous with each other. You have to follow a certain dress code, but that doesn’t mean that style has to take a back seat. You can choose a short cotton Kurti, pair it up with slightly ripped jeans, black boots and a black leather jacket, this look will get you some attention. You will stand out in the crowd. To make it an extra notch, put on a golden hoop earring along with a sling bag.

Winter Wedding Look

We all have been there when we opted for the choice of clothing that made us look amazing but did not prevent us from cold. Why compromise? You can simply buy a long, full-length designer cotton Kurti online or even otherwise, top it up with a long trench coat to keep you warm and take a nice warm shawl or a stole. Put your brightest make-up on and a pair of earrings. This way you will be comfortable and will look stylish.

Hoping that these tips will come handy to you!
